A Drunken Memory Hidden Under My Hair

My last treatment at the aesthetic clinic in Orchard was last week. I used to hang out with my friends a lot in college. We don’t see each other as much these days, but back in the day, we were nearly inseparable. We used to do our fair share of drinking, and one night, we got so drunk that we decided to get tattoos, or at least I thought we all did. I was the only one that got a tattoo that night, while everyone else chickened out at the last minute. I didn’t remember it until the next day, but I got a tattoo of a pizza on my head.

My head was shaved at the time, because I was going through a bald cut phase, so the tattoo was easily applied. After that, I started growing my hair back out to hide the tattoo. I was afraid that no one would take me seriously with a tattoo of a pizza on my head, and no one would want to hire me. It’s not like I could have worn a hat for every occasion. Eventually I would have had to remove the hat for professional settings, and someone would have seen the pizza tattoo on my bald head.

I let the tattoo sit on my head for many years, hidden under layers of hair, before I finally decided to get it removed. I had to shave my hair down to do it, which brought me back to that classic bald look that I had in my youth. I used to like that look, especially since it meant that I didn’t have to do a lot of maintenance with my hair. There was nothing to brush. I just had to keep my head smooth and shiny. I think I’ll keep that look a little longer.
